Medicare Rebates for Audiology

As of 1 March 2023, some diagnostic Audiology services are now eligible for Medicare rebates when referred by a Medical Practioner (including GPs).

For details including Medicare Item Numbers and rebates please visit Medicare Benefits Schedule Item 82315 [external link].

Funding for hearing products & services

Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre is accredited to provide pensioners, Australian Defence Force members, war veterans and some others with free hearing services and hearing aids under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program administered by the Department of Health. If you are eligible for this program but require something more sophisticated than the free hearing aids on offer, you have the option of 'topping up' with your own money to access the full range of modern solutions.

The Government has provided us with an online facility that lets us apply for services on your behalf. Give us a ring on 02 6281 2311 and we will be happy to do the work for you!

Similarly, if you wish to relocate from another hearing provider for any reason, ring us on 02 6281 2311 and we will organise the Government paperwork for you, and handle the file request from your old provider.

For details on eligibility and available services please visit The Australian Government Hearing Services Program [external link].

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

On 1 July 2014, the National Disability Insurance Scheme began rolling out in the ACT to provide disabled people with increased control over selection of the products and services that would best help them.

Brindabella Hearing & Speech Centre can provide services to Self Managed and Provider Managed NDIS participants.

For details on eligibility and funding please visit the NDIS website [external link].
